This year for our King Family reunion we all decided to take a trip to California. The last time we were in California was three years ago for the Katapodis reunion in San Francisco. This time we went to Huntington Beach and Disneyland. Vance’s uncle Jim lives in Huntington Beach and his Grandma and Papa recently moved there from San Francisco. The trip has been planned for several months. About four days before we were supposed to leave we got the news that Papa Katapodis had passed away. He was 94 years old and his health had been declining for quite a while but we hoped that he would hold on for a few more days so we could see him one last time. Unfortunately, we did not get to say goodbye but we were able to attend the funeral. Papa was a really good man with a very colorful life. He will be greatly missed.
After the funeral we took all the kids to Huntington Beach. Austin loved playing in the waves. It was a really fun evening with all the cousins.
