Austin turns three years old

Austin turned three years old yesterday! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. He seems so big lately. He has lost that toddler look and now looks like a little man. We had a little party with Grandma King and Austin's friend Trey. Austin was so excited when we were decorating the house. It was really fun to see his excitement this year. He walked around all week with his presents in hand saying,"PARTY, PARTY!!!". Unfortunately I kept thinking he was saying, "POTTY, POTTY!!!", and kept running him to the bathroom. It took me a few times to clue into what he was really saying. At the age of three Austin is 40 inches tall and weighs 36 pounds. He can say the ABC's, count to 10, and knows most of his colors. He loves to read books. One of his favorites is called, "Mater's Best Friend". We have read it so many times that he has it memorized and can sit and read it to himself. Austin in just like his dad in that he loves to watch movies. Cars 2 and Kung Fu Panda 2 are coming out this summer and Austin can hardly wait to see them. He loves to watch the previews for these two shows over and over again. Austin loves balls and sports. His favorites are soccer and football. He loves to play this game where he jumps on his bed and his dad throws a plush soccer ball and football at him. Austin's favorite toys are Mr. Potato head and Buzz Lightyear. Austin's favorite things to eat are cottage cheese with peaches, peanut butter sandwiches, and hamburgers. Austin has recently got an opinion on what he wears. Every morning he asks to wear his Batman shirt. If that shirt is dirty, he wants to wear his football shirt, if that shirt is dirty, a tantrum is soon to follow. Austin successfully blew out all three candles (it did take him three breaths to do it).
Austin got lots of fun toys. He got the game Elefun from mom and dad, some Cars books from Trey, a Buzz Lightyear from Grandma Gardner, and a Play Dough Factory from Grandma King.

The party was a "Bug" theme. We had "worms in dirt" for the cake, "ants on a log", and butterfly cupcakes, along with pizza and root bear.

This is the closest we could get to a smile. You take what you can get, I guess.
